The Portrait Making Process

So, you know you need portraits, but what are you planning to do with them? At Babies and Beauties, we want to make sure we use our artistic vision to create something that you love. We do this by planning ahead to determine what types of products you are interested in and possible places to display them. That way, when your session day comes, we have a good idea of how to structure your session.

This in-person consultation is where we can sit down and really get to know you! We will look through products and get an idea of how you would like to display your images. We will go over clothing options and you can let us know what about our style drew you to us so that we can create timeless portraits that you will love. When your session day arrives, we’ll have a plan so everything goes smoothly–which means LESS stress for you.

Everyone knows photo day can be stressful! From your 3-year-old who just doesn’t want to wear shoes to a newborn who all of a sudden doesn’t want to sleep, we handle it all. Our priority is to make the day as stress-free as possible. From pampering you with hair and makeup to our snack and beverage selection, we aim to make the process as comfortable as possible.

All of your hard work on photo day paid off and now it’s time to see your beautiful portraits. About 1-2 weeks after your session, we will meet in-person, either at the studio or at your home, so that we can be there every step of the way to guide you through the process of narrowing down your selections, choosing albums or wall art, and any other custom pieces you want…we can even show you what certain image sizes will look like on your OWN walls. Your ordering appointment is the time set aside to finalize your portrait order, so be sure and schedule a time when all decision makers can be there. You will choose all of the items to be ordered during this appointment.

Approximately 4-6 weeks after your ordering appointment, your items will be delivered to your home. Most clients choose to have us come and install wall art pieces. This eliminates items getting lost on the “honey do” list and ensures that your artwork is perfectly displayed.

We are thrilled that your portraits are hung on your walls with care, but we know that your family may keep growing and those kids keep changing, so what about next year, and the year after that?
Our portraits and collections are designed to look good now AND be able to move throughout your home as we add to your family art collection over time.
